As we are expanding our Engineering Team, we are looking for a passionate Head of Engineering who is excited about shaping the future of Education.
As a Head of Engineering your goal will be leading the global tech team to success by becoming both a technical leader and coach for the team members. You will build a remote team from scratch and lead your fellow software engineers by developing their skills and fostering a culture of open communication and support. You will become the central point of leadership for this remote and rapidly expanding team.
Together with the Product Team, your goal will be to make the user experience increasingly user-centered and frictionless.
Our technology stack consists of React, MobX and Styled Components for the frontend and PHP, Symfony, NodeJs, Golang, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis and Elasticsearch for the backend. In general, we always try to evaluate the most suitable technology to achieve our goals, the evaluation and test of new technologies is part of our DNA.
About you
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience in a similar role
- 6+ years of professional experience in software development overseeing and contributing to critical software and systems architecture decisions
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience developing standards and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met and consistent
Managerial Qualifications
- Experience recruiting, hiring and onboarding new team members
- Experience working with people across different geographies and remotely
- Ability to coach and develop teams to consistently deliver excellent superior results
- Ability to advocate for and facilitate continuous improvement and learning
- Strong communication (synchronous and asynchronous) skills, both written and oral, and the ability to interface with cross-functional teams
Technical Qualifications
- Knowledge of at least one object-oriented and functional development language
- Good knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
- Experience developing, writing, and delivering user stories
- Knowledge of QA methodologies including test planning
- Native English speaker or C1 level
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience in SaaS product companies
- Experience building e-commerce and/or marketplaces

About Us
We have recently closed a €6.4 million Series A funding round to scale technology and enter new markets.
We provide an online classroom collaboration e-learning platform developed in-house by our Tech team that has enabled 1.7M (20% of) Italian students not to miss school - the other 2 platforms were Google and Microsoft - and to amplify their learning experience by leveraging digital tools during the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020.
We are a young, fast-growing, and fast-paced team that values collaboration and innovation as keys to reaching our mission. Our company is home to almost 50 full-time employees. And we plan to double our team in 2022 to push on our international growth with a full-remote first and objective-based approach.
